The area is rich in activities, from those into physical challenges, to those wanting to indulge and relax.   

Feel free to email us at oldcoachoasis@gmail.com before your stay  for more detailed information regarding local   activities and best dining out options.  Also we can provide a welcome basket of nibbles/wine etc if you are organising a surprise.  You will just need to give us a few days notice.

Our local and very good Masseuse is called No More Knots - Kirsten does a great job for only $75 an hour.   www.nomoreknotsmassage.co.nz   She is a 5 minute drive away at 32 Arawa Road. You can book online through her Facebook Page - No More Knots.

Another good Masseuse is Kai at Pukehina Beach Massage Ph 027 375 4828 also 5 minutes drive away.

They may come to the Glamping if you offer to pay extra.

Tramping/Cycling Adventures/ Hot Pools

Paengaroa Trading Post is a beautiful local Restaurant in a very quaint cottage.  They do italian food and if you can't get a reservation for dinner then they are also worth going to for Breakfast/Brunch.  Check them out at

At Pukehina Beach there are several options including;

- Pukehina Beach Store & Takeaway for Fish & Chips - plus they have many grocery supplies.

- Seaside Thai Pukehina only available Sat/Sun and must pre order when the meals are posted each week on their facebook page - the Dumplings are a must!

- Lumber Jack Brewery if you like to try some great beer is also at Pukehina  https://lumberjackbrewing.co.nz

There are so many walks available in this area that you can easily do yourself along beaches, through beautiful bush, up mountains and to waterfalls  from 15 mins to 5 hours.  

Walks: Otanewainuku, Papamoa Hills, Raparapahoe Falls, Kaiate Falls, Pukehina or Rogers Rd Beach, Lake Okataina, Lake Tarawera, Lake Okareka, Blue & Green Lakes and much more.

Cycling: Rotoehu Forest, to Pukehina Beach - maybe grab a tap beer from Lumberjacks on the way home, down to Paengaroa and a coffee at The Trading Post.  Also don't forget the Redwood Forest in Rotorua - heaps of beautiful tracks to choose from with bikes and E bikes for hire for every level of fitness.

Trout/Sea Fishing

There are lots of lakes within 20 to 30 minutes of here and beaches 5 to 30 minutes for excellent surf casting, longlining, boat fishing and diving.  Trout fishing is a very relaxing sport to do on our beautiful local lakes also.  Ask Graeme about local fishing spots and trout fishing at lakes.

Other Activities- that make for great day trips

25 minutes away - White water rafting is available at Okere Falls where there is also a great coffee shop and cafe.  Not much further on is the Hamurana Springs - the deepest natural water spring in the North Island.

30 minutes away - Waitangi Soda Springs, beautiful natural hot pools.  Need to drive from our gate through Rotoehu Forest, gravel road to find your way to this magical little spot. 

45 minutes drive away;  

Rotorua: Skyline Luge & Restaurant at Fairy Springs,  Mt, Treeetop walks, Secret Spot Hot Pools, Forest ziplining, hot geysers and so much more.

Whakatane: Berry farms en route, lovely seaside town with lots to see and maybe pop over to Ohope for a look and do the walk over to another bay or all the way back to Whakatane and loop back 

Mt Maunganui/Tauranga: Mount beach and Mt Maunganui walks, Shops, Restaurants, Hot Pools (lots to choose from) and much more here too.
